I’ve heard many people say 2020 was awful. Although it definitely had some challenging parts (hello COVID-19) overall our family chose to have an amazing year. My husband’s business, although mildly affected by the pandemic, was still successful and fulfilling. Our family of five was able to do a 3-week camping trip in our jeep, checking an item off our bucket list. Plus, as you already know, I made the decision to re-open Knit Together Photography this fall.
However, even with a great year, there’s always so much to learn and grow from if we look back on it. In our family life we learned we over schedule – so even when life goes back to “normal,” we want to try to keep more time set aside for our family. One way is to start planning another jeep trip for next summer!
As far as photography is concerned, I’ve already started implementing ways to serve you better. For instance, as we’ve all learned this year, there are so many things in life that can be moved online fairly easily. For newborn sessions that means your viewing and design appointments will remain on zoom (unless otherwise requested) to save your precious energy. I know how exhausting it is as a new parent, so let’s make adding one more outing unnecessary!
Another new thing I’m adding in 2021 is more thorough communication. I feel like I’ve always communicated well with my clients: we’ve always discussed your expectations and desires, wardrobe advice and options, displaying art in your home, etc. But this year, I’ll be adding on to this with physical communication (yes: you’ll actually get snail mail!) and advice on how to prepare for the perfect session so you can remain stress-free throughout!
If you’ve been watching my social media page this fall, you also know that I’ve been working on expanding my client wardrobe closet. I will continue adding to the closet as I find dresses I love, but am so excited about the many options I have already! The decision to create the closet stems from conversations I have with my clients (as well as friends) frequently – mom always has the most difficult time finding clothes that she is in love with to wear for her portraits. Now you can try on different options I have and choose one for your portrait time – no matter the session type <3
I am so excited for 2021 and to working with many new and returning families. If you want to be sure to make it onto my 2021 calendar, click the button below to contact me.
Also, enjoy looking through some of my favorite images from each session I had in 2020*.
*I only share sessions that I have been given permission to share on social media and/or the website. Those that request that I not use their images are not shown.
