I wish I knew more about a more holistic approach to reproduction and women’s health when I was trying to conceive my first and struggling with infertility and even more while I was pregnant with all my children. I feel like I was above the curve in knowledge compared to many already . . . but I was lacking so much information still! For instance, massage as an option for fertility issues! That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about today’s interview with Helen Cohen! She is a Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of Wild Moon Massage and Wellness, located at Root & Sprout in Northborough where she loves working with women through all walks of life. After graduating from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy specializing in therapeutic massage techniques, Helen went on to specialize in prenatal and postpartum massage and also to become a practitioner of Arvigo Maya Abdominal Therapy, a modality widely renowned for its ability to heal a wide range of pelvic, reproductive and menstrual diseases. Helen loves working with women in an individualized process to meet their wellness aspirations, whether it is simply reducing day-to-day stress, relieving chronic pain, pregnancy aches and pains, or more complex pelvic and reproductive complaints.
I was thrilled to hear about the different services she offers, as well as find out more specifics to simple things like: when you’re pregnant and visiting her do you lay on your belly? And some more in depth questions like: what is vaginal steaming?! I was already excited to start seeing Helen in this new year, but after talking with her about what she does, I really can’t wait – let’s start working on this c-section scarring!
