You may recall that last spring I took a newborn photography workshop in CT with Trisha of TG Photography. It was amazing and furthered my newborn photo skills so much from where they were! However, there’s only so much you can learn when in a room full of other women all there to do the same thing. So, when I heard that Trisha was coming back north this fall (she lives in FL), I knew I wanted to take advantage of that opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with her!
I really wanted to work on the details of each distinct pose and learn how to make it better, as well as what the best angle is to capture each of these poses. She suggested we invite two babies to join us for the day overlapping their times. During any newborn photo session I expect the baby to want to eat and snuggle some, and I work on setting up new set designs for them. However, with two babies we could keep working with the one baby as the other needed a break – this allowed us to get through our goals so much easier and quickly! This was absolutely an invaluable experience for me: to have her in my studio with my equipment was unparalleled as a learning experience.
After this workshop, my editing time after each session is cut drastically because now my out-of-camera images look so close to the final product! It’s amazing how very small changes can make such a dramatic difference! This has been one of the best investments I’ve made for my business yet – and I look forward to next time! Thanks Trisha and moms for working with me on this day – and congrats on your adorable little men!
