I had the pleasure of photographing sweet baby Quinn when she was 10 days new a couple of weeks ago. Oh. My. Word! She is just the most adorable and precious thing ever! Of course, I may be a *little* biased as her parents are our friends and part of our life group at church. She’s their first born and we’re all excited about her arrival!
Sweet girl slept like a dream for nearly the entire session so we were able to get through many set-ups, including images with mom and dad in very good time. She did take one break in the middle to eat a lot, but then we got right back at it. I actually like feeding breaks because in my small studio that gives me an easy time transitioning backdrops and preparing for the next set up(s) – it’s a win-win 🙂
My studio being small is one of the main reasons I send clients a questionnaire before their session that asks many questions about their personal style, likes, home decor, intentions for these images, etc. It makes planning the session so much easier and faster and I’m able to pull out options from my props for mom and dad to choose which they like best. Because I’ve gotten a glimpse into their lives I’m able to pre-choose many things that the parents love and therefore we’re able to start the session so much quicker. In fact, based on the answers from this family’s questionnaire and discussions surrounding this session, I was able to find some props ahead of time that I wouldn’t normally use (much brighter than my usual style) and prepare a set up that they love! In fact, this is one of the images they chose at their viewing appointment – and I’m sure it also helped that Quinn was smiling away so sweetly in this particular image as well.
Here’s just a sampling of the sweetness of this beautiful family!
